Luciano Meola, clarinet

Graduated with honors from the "G.Verdi" Conservatory of Turin under the guidance of Maestro Sergio Delmastro, he immediately won numerous chamber music competitions. Since 1990 he has been the solo clarinet of the New Art Ensemble, a chamber group that still collaborates regularly with the pianist Bruno Canino. With this formation he performed more than one hundred concerts throughout Italy and made two recordings for Polygram. He collaborated with the Teatro Alla Scala in Milan, from 2002 to 2008 he held the role of First Clarinet at the Sinfonica Orchestra della Valle d'Aosta, recording numerous CDs with internationally renowned soloists. The collaboration with the Teatro Regio of Turin began in 1994.

Since 2008 he has consistently held the role of second clarinet, piccolo clarinet and basset horn, tackling the entire repertoire for these related instruments both in the symphonic and operatic contexts under the direction of Noseda, Gergiev, Bickov, Steinberg, Sado, Janowski, Abbado, Renzetti and has toured in America, China, Japan, the Middle East and Europe. Teacher in the Musical Specialization Courses of Frabosa Soprana and Prea (CN), in the "Cluster" courses (Aosta), as assistant to F. Meloni (Aosta) and at the Conservatory of Turin. He plays Luis Rossi clarinets.
