Program
The Zephyr International Chamber Music Course and Festival features a daily regimen of coaching, rehearsals and master classes for strings, clarinet, and piano, and will present ten concerts throughout the region during the fourteen-day session.
Students, faculty and non-participants will be housed in a 3-star hotel where two meals will be served daily, and in addition to the intense musical activities there will be time for recreation, social events. Auditions are required (no exceptions).
A maximum of only 12 of the highest quality students will be accepted for the festival. Repertoire will be assigned and prepared in advance of the actual session. All students will participate in the ensembles and performances, often with faculty and distinguished alumnae.

Piemonte
Frabosa Soprana is a small town near the Magliano Alpi, 56 miles/90 km south of Turin in Piemonte. Piemonte is the mountainous area of Italy with a long history of ancient tribes, occupying Romans and the original unification of Italy.
Moneglia
Moneglia is a small, charming town on the Mediterranean coast with a welcoming beach and ancient churches and castles, very near the Cinque Terre and Portofino. The experience of living in a small Italian seaside town is very special, and the value of tasting its cuisine and enjoying the local customs is not to be missed.

Yerin Kim, piano
Praised by the International Piano Magazine as “pianist of beautiful finesse and golden tone”, and “powerful and engaging, poetic and expressive with some truly original interpretive insights, all performed with a great technique” by Phoenix Classical, pianist Yerin Kim has given concerts in various festivals and recitals in major venues internationally, including The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., Carnegie Hall in New York, and Place Flagey in Brussels. Her solo debut album "First and Last Words" can be heard on Sheva Label and her duo album “The Sound and the Fury” with violinist Brendan Shea by the Blue Griffin records. Her duo is managed by the Parker Artist Management and has been praised by the String Magazine as “music overall comes across as more than merely notes, more like real life” , “...creates a rich and intimate atmosphere, as they navigate the thrills and spills” by the BBC Music Magazine, and Calgary Herald as “lively, ebullient, and spikily accentuated performance”. Kim is also passionate about outreach and education and she is the founder and director of Sensory Friendly Music and Autism Concert Series, Co-artistic Director of Chamber Music in the Bend, as well as Pianofest at CWU and Music & Autism concert series.
Kim moved to the Pacific North West in 2020 when she joined the Central Washington University as their new Piano Professor. She currently is the head of the Keyboard area and directs CWU’s piano performance, piano pedagogy, and collaborative piano programs. Prior to CWU, she taught at University of Notre Dame as Adjunct Assistant Teaching Professor and has taught at pre-college programs at Indiana University Bloomington and Stony Brook University. Kim holds a Double Degree in Piano Performance and Psychology from Oberlin college, a MM from Indiana University Bloomington, and DMA from Stony Brook University.

Elly Toyoda, violin (2014)
A native of Osaka, Japan, Dr. Elly Toyoda is Visiting Assistant Professor of Violin and Coordinator of Strings at the Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College. She has served faculty-artist for Yale School of Music's Norfolk Chamber Music Festival and Lecturer at Rutgers University. Toyoda is a recording artist for the Cantaloupe Music label and performs actively across Asia, Europe, and North America.
Toyoda studied at Oberlin Conservatory, Yale School of Music where she received the school’s Alumni Prize, and Rutgers University where she received the school’s highest honors in recognition of excellence in performance and scholarly research.
